RICHMOND – Before “Is It Cake?” reached TV screens, Elyssa Cervantes, 13; and her mother, Angela Davis, had people asking the same question. The mother-daughter team creates delicious-looking and aromatically accurate desserts and drinks – a few being cheesecake, sundaes and daiquiris – from wax. I’m homeschooled.” “She’s learning ratios,” Davis says. “It’s five essential oils and how much she would need with 1 pound of wax.” They mix colored oils to produce the desired effect for each soy-blend candle creation.
