Endsley receives 2022 David Whitmer Service Award

Arthur E. M. Endsley, a longtime Orrick resident, received the 2022 David Whitmer Community Service Award during The Fifth Annual David Whitmer Symposium. The award was presented by Jimmy Carter, the 2019 recipient. The David Whitmer Community Service Award is presented annually to a member of the Ray County community who has exemplified a life of community service and integrity. In his remarks at the ceremony, Endsley said he was “humbled and honored” to be given the award. Endsley has been on the Orrick Board of Education for 20 years and has enjoyed 10 years as board chair. Art Endlsey was born in Excelsior Springs to E.M. and Mavis Endsley. He graduated in 1980 from high school there. He attended MU for a little more than three years. While at the university, tired of repeating his name and telling people it was Arthur, he used the name that his father always called him, “Art,” and it stuck.
