District considers statewide policy revisions
Long-standing district regulations outlining library material selection and homeschooled student eligibility for activities governed by the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) could soon be rescinded or revised under a statewide policy update.
During a recent meeting, the Richmond R-XVI Board of Education conducted a first reading of the Missouri School Boards’Association’s (MSBA) 2025E policy update. The measure was presented for review and no formal adoption vote was recorded.
The 2025E update is part of a periodic policy revision package issued by MSBA to reflect changes in state law, educational standards and administrative guidance. According to materials provided to the district, this year’s revisions focus primarily on instructional materials, media center and library procedures and policies related to homeschooled student participation in extracurricular activities.
