‘THE COVID-19 CRISIS IS OVER’
Gov. Mike Parson announced an end to the crisis in Missouri.
“We don’t know if this virus will ever completely go away, but we do know that there is no longer a need to live in crisis mode and that we can shift our response to meet the current needs of Missourians,” Parson said last week. “The COVID-19 crisis is over in the state of Missouri, and we are moving on.”
The pandemic killed about 980,000 people nationally and more than 20,100 in Missouri.
The Ray County Health Department on Jan. 13 reported 99 active coronavirus cases, on the cusp of doubling the 54 cases reported just eight days earlier, Jan. 5. Also Jan. 13, the department reported 64 deaths since the pandemic’s start, up from 62 a week earlier.
