County reviews bids, infrastructure needs

Decisions affecting winter access and long-term infrastructure moved forward as county officials addressed snow removal and ongoing project coordination. Ray County commissioners turned first to snow removal planning, reviewing bids tied to county facilities and sidewalks during a recent meeting. The first bid submitted was from Tim Leach, who was described as a new bidder this year. The bid covered snow removal services for multiple county locations, including the courthouse, prosecuting attorney’s office, public administrator’s office, Eagleton Center, Ray County Jail, Ray County Museum, the old jail sidewalks and county property in Henrietta. Commissioners noted Leach’s pricing is structured on a per-event basis, with a $950 service-visit cost for all listed locations when snow accumulation reaches one inch or more.
