Older Ray County residents receive word from Ray County Commissioners in support of the senate bill which freezes property tax rates for residents ages 65 and older. Missouri Gov. Mike Parson signed Senate Bill (SB) 190 in early June. The property tax break must be approved by each individual county. Individual counties must approve the property tax breaks. In late November, Ray County Commissioners Dave Powell and Billy Gaines signed Court Order 2023-11-03 which supports SB 190 in Ray County. “Once and if it gets passed this January, we will enact it. We are looking into locking the tax rate prior to COVID-19,” said Gaines.
