Council clears way for new businesses
Two new commercial lots are coming to Richmond’s south side following city council approval of the final plat for a section of the Spartan Business Center.
The council passed a bill approving the plat for lots five and six, located adjacent to the Scooters on Johnny Walker Lane. The two parcels are intended for future business development and already have stormwater infrastructure and utility access in place.
“This is what we call a routine lot split,” explained Community Development Director Lisa Hastings. “There are going to be two more potential commercial developments going on out there.”
City staff confirmed the lots meet zoning requirements, although the names of the businesses were not disclosed because sales have not yet closed. “It’s exciting to work with two businesses,” said Hastings.
“They submit development plans on what they’re landscaping, what they’re doing.”
