Council advances subdivision, annexation, city facility improvements
The Richmond City Council has approved multiple actions, including the annexation of residential property, final plat approval for a subdivision and several maintenance contracts aimed at improving city services and facilities.
Council members passed an ordinance to annex 1010 Wellington Street into the city limits. According to City Administrator Tonya Willim, the property owner submitted a voluntary annexation request and the action brings the property into alignment with the city’s future growth plans.
The annexation followed standard legal and zoning procedures.
The final plat for Jabez Heights was approved by the council. The five-lot single-family residential subdivision is located west of College Street and north of the United Christian Presbyterian Church. The Planning and Zoning Commission previously reviewed the plat and recommended approval without conditions.
