Community baby shower deemed a success
Baby showers are a time to show support for the mother- and father-to-be, while also showering them with items needed for the new baby.
A community baby shower was recently coordinated by Richmond’s Bridge of Hope Program and Executive Director Connie Taylor and held at Henrietta First Baptist Church. Pregnant mothers, those interested in pregnancy education and community members had the opportunity to join in the event.
Taylor said her mission is to advocate for families, from moms and dads to grandparents and beyond.
“Whatever resources I can garner to help the family – that’s where I come in,” she said, noting educating the expecting couples was key.
Home State Health Community Development Representative Dana Leonard explained the importance of community baby showers.
