Coats wins FFA scholarship
Out of 62 youth, Richmond High School (RHS) Future Farmers of America (FFA) President Allison Coats was selected from Missouri 4-H and FFA State Fair exhibitors and will be awarded scholarships by the Missouri State Fair and the Youth in Agriculture (YIA) committee.
Last week, Missouri State Fair Director Jason Moore announced the word.
“I am extremely proud of Allison and all that she has accomplished. I know she will achieve many great things in her life and this is a wonderful first step into college life,” said RHS FFA Advisor Laura Allen.
The students granted scholarships are seeking higher education at a university/ college of their choice and will be recognized on April 17 during the annual State FFA Convention in Columbia.
Scholarship applicants were evaluated in a variety of areas including Missouri State Fair participation, grade point average, community involvement and leadership roles. Since 1992, the Youth in Agriculture committee has now awarded 878 scholarships…
