The Ray County Coalition is hosting a candidates’ forum, along with its annual meeting, starting at 11:30 a.m. June 29.

The event will take place at the United Christian Presbyterian Church in Richmond.

Candidates on the August ballot and asked to appear at the forum include presiding commissioner candidates Billy Gaines, Lonnie Kersey and Shirley O’Dell; Ray County Prosecuting Attorney Camille Johnson; and Ray County circuit clerk candidates Alice Smith, Kymmie Higginbotham and Michelle Woods.

Other county officials on the ballot in August and attending the forum are Ray County Clerk Heather Maulsby; Ray County Treasurer Melissa Holloway; Ray County Recorder Rhonda Kinnison; and Ray County Collector Julie Chowning.

District 7 state Rep. Peggy McGaugh and candidate Joshua Vance, and District 53 state Rep. Terry Thompson also will attend.

Ray County Associate Circuit Judge Lori Baskins cannot attend.
