COLUMBIA – Those with a family farm since Dec. 31, 1922, may apply for Missouri Century Farm recognition. University of Missouri Extension, the MU College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, and the Missouri Farm Bureau sponsor the program. The application deadline is May 1. To qualify, the same family must have owned the farm for 100 consecutive years. The line of ownership from the original settler or buyer may be through children, grandchildren, siblings and nephews or nieces, including through marriage or adoption.
