Rayville business Ray Rocks Offroad Resort (RROR) off Hwy 10 came before the Ray County Planning and Zoning Board for its one-year conditional use permit review on Monday. Nearly 50 residents surrounding the resort attended the meeting and voiced their opinions – both for and against the resort. The board chose to clarify information and terms on the conditional use permit with modifications – the definition of racing, closing times, and “after hour” safety checks. RROR owners Marianne D’Amatto and Devin Milmoth disagreed with the closing time now at 10 p.m. every night, rather than midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, because of the lack of county noise ordinances, Milmoth said. Rayville resident Rhonda York voiced her concerns about the noise coming from the resort to board Chairwoman Janet Aldrich and the board. “When they’re having all their fun and games on the weekends, guess who gets to sit out till 2 o’clock in the morning, waiting for things to settle down?” York asked. …
