Calvert Road Bridge work complete in Ray County

RICHMOND – The Calvert Farm Road Bridge is complete and under budget, Ray County Presiding Commissioner Bob King said. The commission conducted a final bridge inspection Monday. The county allocated about $349,000 to complete the project, King said. The actual cost came to $322,810 – more than $26,000 less than anticipated, he said. Because the county is expected to pay 25% of the total cost, the direct savings to county taxpayers is more than $6,500. Commissioners have a plan for what to do with the savings. “We’re leaving it right in the road and bridge account,” King said, “because we don’t know what we’re going to be needing for the rest of the year.” Off Missouri Highway 10 just east of Richmond and built over the West Fork of Crooked River, the Calvert Farm Road Bridge buckled during spring 2019 flooding.
