Bridge limited to single lane
A decades-old bridge on Missouri Route Z south of Orrick will soon be limited to a single lane as crews prepare for its eventual replacement.
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will implement a one-lane bridge crossing at Missouri Route Z over Keeney Creek approximately one mile south of Orrick beginning at approximately 6 a.m. on July 15. Due to the one-lane configuration, drivers headed in both directions will need to yield to oncoming traffic. There will also be a 25-ton weight limit on the bridge.
While safe to travel on, the bridge has reached the end of its service life. This lane closure will be in place to keep the bridge open to traffic until it is closed for replacement.
All work is weather permitting.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can also be short-term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
