Bond modified in Richmond domestic violence case

A Richmond man has been granted a bond modification while facing one felony domestic violence charge.
Christopher G. Carmichael, 42, is charged with one felony of second- degree domestic assault. Additionally, he is facing two misdemeanors, including fourth-degree domestic assault and second- degree endangering the welfare of a child.
Carmichael recently appeared before Eighth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Lori J. Baskins and, through his private attorney Scott C. Hamilton, requested to be removed from no bond status. With no objection from the Ray County Prosecutor’s Office, Baskins removed Carmichael from no bond and set a $5,000 bond, with 10% to be posted.
Carmichael posted the bond amount and was released from Ray County Jail.
He will appear for a criminal setting hearing at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 28.
On Aug. 31, Richmond police Department Officer C. Smith responded to a residence on a report of a physical disturbance.
