ORRICK – The Orrick School District reported that, to start the week of March 21, teacher Cassie Smith and students Natasha Hicks, Madisyn Hartwick, Keeley McAfee and Payton Vassmer traveled to the Capitol in Jefferson City for the Recognition and Awards Ceremony for Youth Art Month. The girls’ artwork had been on display on the third floor rotunda of the Capitol for the past month. Smith and students received recognition for their work from Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe and Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft. On March 23, Smith and Destiny Rohde returned to the Capitol for the Senate Art Exhibit Recognition Ceremony. They met with state Sen.
