Ahart is MRVC East runner-up
Richmond’s Jaxon Ahart was in the running for an individual title in the middle school portion of the Missouri River Valley Conference (MRVC)-East Division cross country championships, held recently in Richmond.
Ahart, an eighth-grader, took second in the middle school boys competition, finishing the 1.6-mile race in 10 minutes, 14.1 seconds. Lafayette County of Higginsville’s Cru Bell won in 9:43.8.
Ahart was one of two Richmond middle schoolers to place in the top 10. Luke Sisson placed eighth in 10:45.2.
Trinity Slater and Kaeleigh Damron represented Richmond in the middle school girls race, with Slater placing 21st in 13:21.3 and Damron taking 24th in 13:42.5.
In other MRVC East results, Richmond had two top-20 finishers in the varsity boys race: Daxton McGinnis
and Darius Maylon. McGinnis took 19th in in 21:30.6. Maylon finished 20th in 21:30.8.
Senior Isabelle Dooley was Richmond’s lone varsity girls runner, finishing 26th in 27:20.2.
