An intergovernmental agreement which will provide safe disposal of hazardous household has been executed. The City of Richmond entered into the agreement with Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) Solid Waste Management District for 2024 Household Hazardous Waste (HHW). “The MARC Solid Waste Management District has administered the Regional HHW Collection Program for many years. This program makes possible the safe disposal of household hazardous waste for our residents at two permanent facilities in Kansas City and Lee’s Summit and at mobile collections,” said Richmond City Administrator Tonya Willim. “The 2024 participation fee will be $1.13 per capita and will be applied to 2022 population estimates of 5,959. Richmond’s cost for 2024 would be $6,732.54, and funds for the program are provided in the FY24 budget,” she said.
