911 Board member drives 100 miles to work
RICHMOND – Former Hardin Police Chief Ted Kuhlman still lives in Ray County and remains a Ray County 911 Board member, though he works in Benton County.
“He has taken employment (there), but he still lives in Ray County,” 911 Board President Paul Harris said March 26.
Kuhlman works for the Benton County Sheriff’s Office in Warsaw, a drive of just over 100 miles from Richmond.
“That’s totally up to him,” Harris said. Kuhlman could not be reached for comment.
In March, the board could not meet officially because of lack of a “quorum,” meaning the minimum number of people a government board must have present to discuss and vote on issues affecting the public.
Fairly or unfairly, Kulman is not the only person to hold an elected seat while raising questions about their place of residence.
