Frieda Arlene Wheeler

Frieda Arlene Wheeler, 94, Hardin, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Richmond.

Frieda was born Feb. 24, 1924, in the Rockingham community, near Stet, the daughter of William “Bill” and Lula (Falls) Neff. She married Frank Junior Wheeler, also from the Rockingham community, Dec. 30, 1946. They enjoyed 55 years of marriage and he preceded her in death Sept. 3, 2002.

Survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Wayne Wheeler of Stet, Rick and Patricia Wheeler of Hardin; two grandsons, Jason Wheeler and his wife Amy, Brian Wheeler and his wife Kristin; and five great-grandchildren, Nolan, Mia, Adam, Eden and Hogan.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Kay Wheeler in infancy; one brother, Carl Wayne Neff; and one sister, Glenna Stratton.

Frieda was reared and educated in the area of her birth. Frieda was a housewife and homemaker. Frank worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad while Frieda took care of the family and the home. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Braymer. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation with funeral services will be at 1 p.m.  Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, with services at 2 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wakenda Cemetery, north of Hardin. Online condolences may be left at
