Alma Louise Robinson

 Alma Louise Robinson, 97, of Richmond, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, at Oak Ridge Assisted Living Facility, Richmond.

Alma was born June 20, 1921, in Rockingham, the daughter of Jim David and Emma Hester (Rader) Bowman. She was united in marriage to E.A. (Mac) Robinson, of Capps, Arkansas, on June 2, 1943. He preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 1994.

Survivors include: one son, Larry Robinson and his wife, Charlyn, of Excelsior Springs; two daughters, Patricia Jelinek and her husband, Rex, of Richmond, and Jami Robinson, of Richmond; one brother, Jim Bowman and his wife, Eleanor, of Richmond; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, David Robinson, two brothers, Robert Bowman and Harold Bowman; and three sisters, Frances White, Virginia Robinson and Martha Anne Reade.

Louise was an elementary school teacher in the sourrounding area for more than 30 years, and taught at Camden, Orrick, Richmond, and Russellville. For many years, she and her husband managed the clubhouse at Shirkey Golf Course. They also operated Mac’s Pro Shop. Louise was a voracious reader who loved sports, both watching and participating in, she was an excellent golfer. She also enjoyed quilting and doing crossword puzzles. Louise was a member of the Rockingham Church of the Brethren and a member of the Eastern Star. She lived most of her life in the Ray County area.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Ray County Public Library. They can be dropped off or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 E. Main St. – P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at the Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Wakenda Cemetery, north of Hardin. Online condolences may be left at
