The former Polley Funeral Home will likely be razed on Tuesday, according to a Richmond city official — but that’s dependent on action by the City Council on Friday.

Richmond-based Midwest Missouri Contractors will perform the work, according to Richmond City Administrator Tonya Willim. The project, expected to take about three days, would begin Tuesday by taking down the structure, with debris removal following on Wednesday.  Finally, the site would be filled and compacted next Thursday.

Willim said Mayor Mike Wright would call a special Friday council meeting for discussion and approval of the contract to meet the projected time frame.

Equipment from Midwest Missouri Contractors would be situated in the intersection of North Main and College streets on Tuesday, Willim said. Parking along the south side of North Main Street — from Macey Bail Bonds to the west side of the courthouse — will be closed, as well as parking on the north side of College Street.
