The schedule at Richmond Middle School isn’t changing.

During its meeting Tuesday night at the Richmond R-XVI School District offices, the Board of Education, Superintendent Mike Aytes and other district administrators discussed a proposal to adopt what Aytes called “a true middle school schedule.”

The discussion on a presentation during the board’s May 8 meeting about proposed middle school schedule changes, given by Principal Jana Fleckenstine.

After about 25 minutes of discussion, including some question-and-answer time, board member Tom Williamson moved to adopt the middle school schedule. It died for lack of a second.

As a result, the middle school will keep using “a traditional junior-high type (of) curriculum based on elective course choices,” Aytes wrote Wednesday.
