RCMH $6.3 million ER project officially complete

Ray County Memorial Hospital board members, staff and community members on Wednesday celebrated completion of the $6.3 million project upgrading the emergency and trauma rooms, laboratory, ambulance entrance, radiology and other areas. A jovial mood prevailed as CEO Earl Sheehy (with scissors) cut the ribbon, surrounded by board President Valerie Miller, from left, board members Dale Maddux and Dr. John Scowley, Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce President Justin Meier, City Administrator Tonya Willim and County Coroner Bart Willim. Meier thanked everyone involved. “This is so important to our residents, and in bringing families and businesses into our community, having a hospital we can rely upon,” he said. Sheehy thanked the community for its support and noted, “We were able to do this without borrowing any money. There’s very few hospitals that could say that.” (Photo by Joy Tipping/Richmond News)
