Northland conferees study rise – and reasons – in illegal drug use

Editors note: Part 1 of the Northland Prevention Conference ran on Pg. 5 of the March 9 issue of The Richmond News.

Two sessions at the 2018 Northland Prevention Conference: “Resilience: We Can Build It!” — “Drug Trends in Teens: Where are Things Headed?” and “Do I Need this Pill? Understanding Pain and the Opioid Epidemic” — related strongly to the nationwide opioid epidemic, which is hitting Ray County especially hard.

The conference took place March 2 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Liberty, and was co-sponsored by the Northland Coalition and Tri-County Mental Health Services. Several Ray County Coalition representatives were among the 300 registered attendees.
