Mom follows son’s path as new 39th District Rep

Normally, a child follows in their parent’s footsteps. This time, it was in reverse.

Former 39th District House Rep. Joe Don McGaugh – now Judge McGaugh – did the honor of administering the oath of office to his mother, Peggy McGaugh, on Monday, Feb. 26, in the Missouri House chamber. Joe Don previously served as the 39th District House legislator before being appointed Carroll County associate district judge. His mother, who was Carroll County Clerk for 23 years, won the Feb. 6 special election for the seat.
