‘We’re going in the right direction’

Orrick R-XI School District: Current, future school leaders weigh in on school district’s past, goals

By Liz Johnson, Richmond News Staff Writer

Changes will come soon to the Orrick R-XI School District. The district will lose its longtime superintendent Aerin O’Dell as of June 30, and high school principal Scott Archibald will take over as leader on July 1.

The district serves elementary through high school students in one building at 100 Kirkham St.

New Superintendent Archibald

Archibald has worked with O’Dell for the past six years, since O’Dell moved into the district’s superintendent position and he replaced her as the high school principal.

He has already begun looking for his own replacement as principal, Archibald said: “My main thing is that whoever is going to be in this position, I want to hire someone who is better than me,” he said. “That’s going to make me better as an administrator.”
