Richmond High School ag teachers and FFA sponsors Laura Allen and Charles Foreman hope they’ll have some new equipment for their students in a few months.

Allen and Foreman are applying for a career and technical education enhancement reimbursement grant. Offered through the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, the grant is a mix of 75/25 and 50/50 matching funding.

Voting 7-0, the school board granted Allen and Foreman approval Tuesday to pursue the grant and for the district to provide $40,691 in matching funds, pending grant approval. Richmond High School Principal John Parker said the grant application deadline is Feb. 2. According to Allen, the paperwork is already finished.

“We had everything written and ready for the … (board’s) approval tonight,” she stated shortly after the vote.
