Hardin-Central, Norborne consolidation talks

Consolidating the Hardin-Central and Norborne school districts is an idea that will soon die.

That was an opinion expressed during the Hardin-Central Board of Education meeting Monday night at the district schoolhouse – moments after a motion to end consolidation research had died.

Shortly before adjournment, board member Malcolm Cunningham moved that the district write Norborne to state that Hardin-Central was no longer interested in studying the feasibility of consolidating, as the two districts have done for the past few months. The motion was in keeping with others Cunningham had made during the board’s October, November and December 2017 meetings.
