Coats’ late bucket pushes Pirates past Hardin-Central

Christian Coats scored a game-high 30 points, including the game winner Tuesday night to lift Norborne to a 54-53 CLAA win at Hardin-Central.

Coats, who scored 14 points in the final period, hit a short jumper with 5.7 seconds left in the game to give the Pirates their third win in seven contests and their second win in four league games. The Pirate senior guard hit three 3-point baskets for the night, including two in the decisive fourth quarter. Coats also made each of his three free throw attempts as the Pirates converted 8 of 13 from the stripe, while the Dawgs made 9 of 13.
