Claypole, Waigand take third at Tiger tourney

Two of the three Spartan wrestlers earned medals at the Excelsior Springs Tiger Classic Saturday. Logan Claypole and Rance Waigand grabbed third-place medals for Richmond, while Wyatt Johnson ended up with a sixth-place finish.

Claypole, now 8-6 for the season, lost his first match in the 120-pound bracket by a 6-2 decsion to Selvin Estrada of Carthage. He split his final two matches in the pool by defeating Max Braudrick of Oak Park 6-0, but dropping a 14-12 decision to Damon Ashworth of Excelsior Springs.
