It was an up-and-down game for the Richmond Spartans Tuesday night as they opened play at the Husker Classic in Higginsville. The fourth-seeded Spartans controlled the early goings against fifth-seeded Odessa – lost the lead – and then had to mount a comeback for a 68-60 win.

After battling from behind most of the night, Odessa, now 2-4, took its first lead early in the fourth quarter. Cade Adams hit a 3-pointer to open the final frame to give the Bulldogs a 46-43 lead. They held that lead for just a few minutes until Andre Pritchett’s 3-pointer gave the Spartans the lead for good, 51-48, with 6:11 to play.
