As one law firm closes, another one opens.

That’s not exactly how the saying goes, but one law office is closing in Richmond while another one is opening soon. Cullen Jekel, an attorney who worked for McGaugh Law Offices, is opening his own practice. McGaugh Law Offices recently closed after attorney Joe Don McGaugh was appointed by Gov. Eric Greitens to become associate circuit judge for Carroll County.

Jekel said his law firm, The Law Office of Cullen Jekel, L.L.C., of which he is the owner and sole member, will have office spaces in Richmond and Carrollton, the former locations of McGaugh Law Offices. The Richmond office will be the primary location, while the Carrollton office will be open by appointment only.

“As far as cases handled, that will stay the same,” Jekel said. “Overall, it’s a general law practice in which I handle a little bit of everything, from family law to criminal law, from traffic tickets to personal injury matters, from estate planning to landlord/tenant law.”
