Clyde William Peterson

Clyde William Peterson, 77, of Richmond, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017, at North Kansas City Hospital, North Kansas City, Mo., surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Clyde was born July 30, 1940, in Lincoln, Neb., to Edgar M. and Vera (Layman) Peterson. He married Josephine Alvena Williams, of Kansas City, Kan., Feb. 10, 1963. She preceded him in death Oct. 8, 2017.

Survivors include: two daughters and one son-in-law, Susan and Johnny Damron, of Fredonia, Kan., and Brenda Peterson, of Richmond; one brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Dixie Peterson, of Lowry City; one sister, Marjorie Zink, of Appleton City; two grandchildren, Lisa Turner and her husband, Tom, and Kelsy Payne, and her husband, Chris; and six great-grandchildren, Kaden, Benjamin, Riot and Rutledge Turner and Remington and Hazel Marie Payne.

In addition to his parents and wife, Clyde was preceded in death by one brother, Edgar Duane Peterson; and one sister, Linda Peterson, who died in infancy.

Clyde graduated from Osceola High School in 1958. He worked for 40 years at Certainteed in Kansas City, Kan. and was also a farmer. He was of the Christian faith. Clyde lived in Kansas City, Kan. before moving to Richmond in 1986.

Graveside services are 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 17, at Kidd’s Chapel Cemetery, Lowry City. Arrangements are under the direction of Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond.
