For the first time since the program began as a conference sport, the MRVC held separate cross country championships Wednesday at Southview Park. In the past, the East and West ran as one, but Wednesday’s race, although they ran at the same time, divided the two with the top two teams in each conference earning trophies.

The top 10 runners in the East and West also earned medals.

Lexington captured the boys East title and Pleasant Hill took the top spot among the six West teams. Holden defeated Lexington 15-41 to win the girls’ championship in the East, and Grain Valley won the four-school West crown.
