Josephine A. Peterson

Josephine A. Peterson, 77, of Richmond, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017, at Ray County Memorial Hospital, Richmond.

Josephine was born Dec. 31, 1939 in Kansas City, Mo. She married Clyde William Peterson, of Osceola, Feb. 10, 1963; he survives of the home.

Additional survivors include: two daughters and one son-in-law, Susan and Johnny Damron, of Fredonia, Kan., and Brenda Peterson, of Richmond; one sister, Darlene McConnell, of Nortonville, Kan.; two grandchildren, Lisa Turner, and her husband, Tom, and Kelsy Payne and her husband, Chris; and six great-grandchildren, Kaden, Benjamin, Riot and Rutledge Turner and Remington and Hazel Marie Payne.

In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by one brother, Sam Fugate; and one sister, Erma Edwards.

Josephine was a housewife. She was of the Christian faith. She lived most of her life in the Ray County area. Josephine loved her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed animals.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Visitation is 7 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 12, at Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond. Graveside services are 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 13, at Kidd’s Chapel Cemetery, Lowery. Online condolences may be left at
