Irene Sherman

Irene Sherman, 86, of Richmond, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at Liberty Hospital, Liberty.

Irene was born Oct. 9, 1931, in Raytown, to Earl and Opal (Cox) Reberry.  Irene was united in marriage to Watson Sherman, of Ray County, Sept. 6, 1958; he preceded her in death Aug. 28, 2011.

Survivors include: two daughters and one son-in-law, Ann R. Sherman, of Richmond, and Jetta and Alan Lentz, of Springfield; two grandchildren, Addison Lentz, and his wife Jill Kuanfung, and Emerson Lentz; one brother, Fred Reberry, and one sister, Pat Goff, both of Richmond.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Otto, Ivan and Joe Reberry; and one sister, Vicki Perez.

Irene graduated from the Hardin High School. She worked at Ray County Memorial Hospital for more than 20 years in the pharmacy as a clerk.  She was also a housewife and homemaker on the farm where they lived since 1958.  She was a member of Camden United Methodist Church; where she served as treasurer for many years.  She liked gardening, cooking, reading and collecting cookbooks.

The family suggest memorial contributions be made to Camden United Methodist Church.

Visitation is 7 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 24, at Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond. Funeral services are 10 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Camden United Methodist Church, Camden. Burial is in Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Thurman Funeral Home of Richmond is in charge of the arrangements. Online condolences maybe left at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com.
