Tyler Joseph Barker

Tyler Joseph Barker 24, of Lawson, died Sunday, Sept. 3, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Kansas City, Mo.

Tyler was born Nov. 26, 1992, in Kansas City, Mo., to John Earl and Myra Irene (Bellis) Barker.

Survivors include: his parents, John and Myra Barker, of Lawson; his fiancée, Breanna Harris, of Lawson; maternal grandparents, Raymond and Margaret Bellis, of Rayville; brother and sister-in-law, Marcus and Jayme Barker, of Lawson; nieces, Kylie and Mallori Barker, of Lawson; uncles, Raymond Jr., and Tori Bellis, of Liberty, Daniel Bellis, of Lee’s Summit, Eddie Barker, of Richmond, and Glen Barker, of Columbia; aunt, Betty Davis, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and his future in-laws, Terry and Kim Harris and Bethany Harris, of Lawson.

Tyler was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Edwin and Pearl Barker; his aunt, Ronda Barrett, and uncle, Joe Barker.

Tyler was a 2012 graduate of Lawson High School. He went to Pinnacle Career Institute in Kansas City, Mo., where he became a certified wind turbine technician. Tyler was working as an electrician for Pro Circuit Industries in Kansas City. He was a member of the K.C. Night Shift Motorcycle Club. Tyler was very excited about becoming a father. He was very family-oriented. He loved his nieces dearly and leaves behind many cousins he loved. Tyler was of the Christian faith. He lived in Lawson most of his life.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Tyler Barker memorial fund to benefit his unborn child, baby Barker. Memorials may be dropped off or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 E. Main St., P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.

Visitation is 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 9, at Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond. Funeral services follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at a later date by the family in Sunny Slope Cemetery, Richmond. Online condolences may be left at
