Kenneth Randell Light

Kenneth Randell Light, 81, of Orrick, died May 30, 2017, at his home.

Kenneth was born Nov. 24, 1935, in Laclede County, to Clarence Randell Light and Opal Alice (Cope) Light. He was united in marriage to Wilma Jean Oliphant in Hartville July 20, 1956. He lived in Kansas City north before moving to Orrick in 1969. Kenneth worked as a millwright for Procter & Gamble in Kansas City, Kan. from 1957 until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of Orrick Baptist Church and was ordained a deacon in the church Feb. 24, 1974. Kenneth loved to fish and hunt and enjoyed time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great granddaughter.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Candye Light and Sandra Light; and a brother, Clarence Lorraine Light.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Wilma Jean Light, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle Culler (John), of Kansas City, Kan.; his sisters, Veta Berry (Bill), of Kansas City, Kan., and Jannette Light, of Springfield; a brother, Wayne Light (Debbie), of Parkville; grandchildren, Christa Phillips (Lonney), Joshua Teegarden (Danielle) and Kurt Culler; great-granddaughter, Brooke Phillilps; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is 6 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, June 1, at Orrick Baptist Church. Funeral services are 10 a.m., Friday, June 2, at the church. Burial is in South Point Cemetery, Orrick. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
