Raymond Skiles

Raymond Andrew Skiles, 79, of Richmond, died Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Liberty Hospital, Liberty.

Raymond was born March 17, 1938, in Richmond, to John William “Bill” and Margaret (Borden) Skiles. He married Barbara Walker of Richmond. They later divorced. He then married Delores Outersky, of Richmond, May 13, 1972. She preceded him in death April 4, 2011. Barbara preceded him in death Feb. 4, 2014.

Survivors include: one daughter, Shelby Linebach, of St. Joseph; one sister, Deloras Cates, of Hamilton; four grandchildren, Aubry Linebach, Dru Linebach and his wife, Bobbie Jo, Clay Linebach and Carson Irizarry; two grandchildren, Hannah Lowery and Henley Adams; his companion, Shirley Wheeler, of Carrollton; a niece, Rhonda Richie and her husband, Roger; great-niece, Kristin Null; a great-great nephew, Gavin Null; one step-daughter, Christie Williams, of Richmond; two step grandchildren, Amanda Bleibaum and her husband, Aaron, and Christopher Mallot; two step-great-grandchildren, Rory and Crosby Bleibaum; and several cousins.

Raymond worked at Lake City Arsenal for more than 25 years, retiring in 1986.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Richmond. He served in the Missouri Army National Guard. Raymond loved old cars and music. He especially enjoyed family reunions. He was a lifelong Richmond resident.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Richmond.

Visitation is 7 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 5, at Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond. Funeral services are 10 a.m., Thursday, April 6, at the funeral home. Burial is in Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at
