A Ray County volunteer and a Johnson County ag business are among dedicated volunteers honored for their commitment to helping Missouri 4-H youth and communities thrive.

Kim Zimmerman of Ray County was honored with a 2017 Frank Graham 4-H Volunteer Leadership Award presented by the Missouri 4-H Foundation.

Zimmerman was one of 35 volunteers recognized for their commitment to the University of Missouri Extension 4-H Youth Development Program. The Frank Graham 4-H Volunteer Leadership Award recognizes volunteers for their hard work and dedication to helping Missouri’s youth grow.

Zimmerman has served the Ray County 4-H program for 15 years as a club leader, 4-H Council member and project leader for horse and shooting sports. She leads the Ray County Hippology and Horse Bowl, taking the team to state level contests each year.

Eric Johnson, the 4-H youth specialist serving Ray County, called Zimmerman “very involved, very active and very knowledgeable.”
