Giving year-round is the mission behind many Ray County organizations … not just during the holidays.

Armed with the task of finding organizations that take the time each year to provide for others, whether through volunteering time, baking, gift-giving, making donations or entertaining, I set out to learn the stories. There were many stories to be told and the list of organizations and individuals, who volunteer is almost endless right here in our own backyard.

I learned that those who volunteer don’t just do so during the Christmas season. The spirit of giving is something every one of these organizations and individuals does all year long.

The following are just a few organizations and individuals who are tireless in their efforts to bring the holiday spirit to those in need each year.

The complete story is in the Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 Richmond News.

*Organizations and individuals featured in the article include: Preceptor Gamma Theta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, The Farnan Family, American Legion Auxiliary, Oak Pointe Assisted Living and Memory Care andBeta Tau Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. There are, quite literally, dozens more organizations and individuals in Ray County who not only volunteer and fundraise for those less fortunate during the holiday season, but serve the community and its needs year round.
