Harold Loyd Johnson

Harold Loyd Johnson, 91, of Richmond, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, at North Kansas City Hospital, North Kansas City, Mo.

Harold was born March 31, 1925, in Greenfield, Okla., to Oscar and Eltie (Patterson) Johnson. He married Charlotte Ann Turnage, of Rayville, Feb. 13, 1955; she survives of the home.

Additional survivors include: two sons and two daughters-in-law, Russell and Paula Johnson, of Rayville, and Eric and Sonja Johnson, of Blue Springs; one daughter and son-in-law, June and Paul Pitchford, of Columbia; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by one brother, Verlin “Bill” Johnson; and four sisters, Doris Gardner, Maybelle Brauser, Helen Patterson and Hazel Schneider.

Harold was a United States Navy Veteran of WWII. He was a heavy equipment operator and an entrepreneur all his life. He lived in Garden City, Kan., before moving to Richmond in 1971. He co-owned and co-operated Kids Korner daycare in Richmond with his wife for 27 years and he attended Rayville Christian Union Church. He was a member of Richmond V.F.W. post 237.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Rayville Christian Union Church.

Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 4, at Rayville Christian Union Church.    Funeral services are 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 5, at the church. Burial is in Crowley Cemetery in Rayville. Online condolences may be left at
