The stick of a tattoo needle, that is. Does it hurt?

Perhaps it doesn’t matter, because something else motivates people who adorn their bodies with tattoos, said Danan Sander, Richmond’s newest entrepreneur.

“Tattoos are addicting,” said Sander, who opened a tattoo parlor, Inspired Ink, in town earlier this month.

Tattoos enable people to express themselves, their passions, what they feel, what they’ve been through, Sander said.

“They make people unique,” he said. “That’s everyone’s desire, to be unique and different.”
