SRO agreement finalized with R-XVI approval

City, county and school district split officer costs

A formal agreement authorizing the presence of a resource officer in Richmond’s school buildings is in place.

The Richmond R-XVI School District approved an agreement with the city and county to pay for a school resource officer for Richmond schools for the current school year.

The Richmond City Council and Ray County Sheriff Garry Bush had previously approved the agreement, which includes cost-sharing provisions. School board members Oct. 11 approved the agreement 6-0.
