Penny Kay Woodmansee

Penny Kay Woodmansee, 57, of Warrensburg, formerly of Norborne, died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at her daughter’s home, surrounded by her loving family.

Penny was born July 19, 1959 in St. Joseph, to Leslie and Thelma (Colley) Swindler. She married Douglas E. Woodmansee, of Norborne, Oct. 19, 1985. He preceded her in death April 15, 2014.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Amanda Martin, of Warrensburg; two daughters, Brandy McCormick, of Warrensburg and Jennifer Martin, of Columbia; a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Jo Ann Swindler, of Turney; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Kathy and Kevin Kanan, of Willard and Lora Pierce, of Willard; four grandchildren, Mackenzie Martin, Aubrey Martin, Bryson Martin and Rex Martin; a sister-in-law, Sue Frock, and her husband, Harry, of Bosworth as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Penny was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Swindler.

Penny worked in the healthcare field as a CNA for more than 35 years. She worked at such places as the Life Care Center in Carrollton, The Carroll House in Carrollton and Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond. She was a 1977 graduate of Lathrop High School. Penny was a loving mother and grandmother. She lived in the Norborne area most of her life.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Antioch Cemetery.

Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Thurman Funeral Home, Norborne.
