Jackie Junior ‘Jack’ Wallace

Jackie Junior “Jack” Wallace, 84, of Richmond, died Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, at his home.

Jack was born April 8, 1932, in Jerico Springs, to Harry and Mildred (Scantlin) Wallace. He married Norma Jean Beeson, of Nevada. They later divorced. He then married Florence O. Lusby, of Orrick, Aug. 29, 1980; she survives of the home.

Additional survivors include: one son, Larry Wallace, and his special friend, Pam Flake, of Merriam, Kan.; one daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Greg Spillman, of Lone Jack; one stepson and his wife, Steve and Rosalyn Karl, of Edmond, Okla.; two stepdaughters, Elaine Pedockie and her husband, Eddie, of Excelsior Springs and Terri Butts and her husband, Steve, of Richmond; one son-in-law, Dennis Allen, of Moundville; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and ex-wife, Jack was preceded in death by a son, Jackie Dean Wallace; a daughter, Jacqueline Deann Allen; one brother, Harold Dean Wallace and a sister, Patsy Ann Ewing.

Jack was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. He served 35 years in the Army National Guard before retiring in 1994. He was a member of American Legion Post 237. Jack was a 1950 graduate of Sheldon High School. He worked at the Nike Base in Lawson. He was a member of Richmond Christian Chapel. Jack was a member of Ray Lodge 223 A .F. & A. M. in Camden. He was also a member of Richmond Lodge 208 IOOF. Jack kept statistical charts for the Hardin football team for 48 years. He lived most of his life in Ray County.

The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society or to Richmond Christian Chapel.

Visitation is 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 8, at Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond. Funeral services are 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Masonic services precede the funeral at 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial is in Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery, where military graveside services were conducted by Ray County Veterans.
