William ‘Bill’ D. Horn

HORN-WILLIAM-WEBWilliam ‘Bill’ D. Horn, 81, of Polo, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at Liberty Hospital.

He was born March 29, 1934, to Charles and Vivian Horn in Lookeba, Okla. Bill married Patricia A. Godfrey in 1953; she preceded him in death in 2014.

He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion. Bill graduated from Great Bend High School and Findley Engineering College with a degree in engineering. He worked at Lake City Ammunition in Independence. He was a member of the Buchanan County Extension Club.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 61 years, Patricia; sister, Donna Armstrong and grandson, Jamison Horn.

Survivors include: his children, Randy Horn (Donna), of West Des Moines, Iowa, Debbie Horn, of Independence and Steve Horn (Linda), of Gardner, Kan.; three grandchildren, Amy, Mike and Mary; one great-grandson, Alexander; sisters, Sharon Whitcomb and Dorothy Milligan; brothers, Charles Horn and Arthur Horn; and several nieces and nephews.

Farewell services are 10 a.m., Monday, June 22, at Bailey & Cox Funeral Home, Polo. Interment is in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville. The family will gather with friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, June 21, at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial gifts to Disabled Veterans Association.
