Roger “Tiny” G. Sullenger

Sullenger, RogerRoger “Tiny” G. Sullenger, 75, of Norborne, sadly passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at North Kansas City Hospital, North Kansas City.

Roger was born March 31, 1940, in Richmond, the son of Glen and Pamela (Clevenger) Sullenger.  He graduated from Tucson High School, Tucson, Ariz. in 1958. Roger attended University of Missouri at Columbia for one year then transferred to Wentworth Military Junior College. He completed his studies at Tarkio College, Tarkio.

On June 8, 1963 he married Janet Kay Sadler in Hardin. Roger worked for the Missouri State Highway Dept. of Transportation as a special maintenance supervisor for emergency bridge repair. He was a member of the Wakenda Masonic Lodge 52 A.F. & A.M. in Carrollton and Richmond Lodge I.O.O.F. Oddfellows. He served as alderman for both Hardin and Norborne city councils. Roger was of the Methodist faith.

Roger loved his family and enjoyed socializing with his many friends. He loved to be outdoors and enjoyed grilling, gardening and mushroom hunting. He was the happiest when he was on one of his many John Deere tractors or his Gator riding around the town.

Roger is survived by one son, Scott Alan Sullenger and his girlfriend, Lynette Fletchall, of Hardin; one daughter, Sheila Ann Isom, of Norborne; granddaughters, Ashley Irene Jones and her husband, Jamie, Samantha Sue Sullenger, Jennifer Kay Sullenger, Paige Nicole Holloway and Alix Fay Isom; one great-grandson, Braylon Scott Sullenger; one brother-in-law, Ron Sadler; one nephew, Phillip Sadler; and a companion, Carol Garrett, of Hardin.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Janet, and one infant son, Donald Wayne Sullenger.

Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 12, with a Masonic service at 7, at Foster Funeral Chapels, Carrollton. A graveside service is 10 a.m., Saturday, June 13, at Hardin Cemetery, with Pastor Martin Brooke officiating.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to NorthCare Hospice House in memory of Roger.  They may be left at or mailed to Foster Funeral Chapels, 201 S. Main, Carrollton, MO 64633.
